EXPLANATIONS please!

bump rawr 10

2) A

4) D
Since communities that encourage it feel less threatened then that thing should be positive, but you need a negative word in the first blank because of “not”.
And for the second blank, you need a word that contradicts “encourage”.

2 is C, not A.

CORRECT. explain please?

Sorry i am not a very good explain-er (?) with these questions. It kind of just comes to me lol I’ll try my best:

Okay so as i was reading this, my thought process was that here we have an “Although…”, which signals a contrast between the first and second blank. I went to the second blank to get the answer for that respective blank. I thought to myself, “if the content that editors put was uneven, it was lopsided, that means that the editors were not being picky with what they chose to put in” If they were not picky, then the first blank must mean that they usually were picky (because of the “Although” contrast). Then i went to the choices. Only “selective” (picky) and inclusive (not picky) matched up.

ahhhhh i guess i had the wrong definition of inclusive in my mind. i thought it meant it was selective as well… makes sense.

^I think you confused the words “inclusive” and “exclusive”
