Creating a college visit list for acting schools

I have already received a TON of information about schools for acting from the other threads on this site. I am starting to get schools together that I want to visit this summer before my senior year next year and I have to start auditioning. I am interested in California which is why I have more schools out there on the list, including ba programs, what do people here on cc think about my list? Am I missing any good schools I should pay a visit to?
West:
1.USC
2.UCLA
3.CalArts
4.Pepperdine?
5.Occidental?
6.Chapman?
7.Loyola Marymount?
(I don't know much about the programs at #4-8 as well, but I do love Pepperdine, location wise and it seems the other schools are good too, anyone know?)
East:
1. Emerson
2. FSU (I am from Florida)
3. Ithaca?
4. SUNY Purchase?

Thanks for any information!

First off, I’d say if possible try and visit some of the schools you are REALLY interested in during the school year. That way you can really get a feel for the school itself, instead of just what goes on during the summer. And some schools will give you tours only during the school year, have large info sessions, let you sit in on classes, etc.

I’ll also just give you a few schools that you could look into as well (although they aren’t in Cali): NYU, Rutgers, Boston University, and UNCSA. There are, of course, lots of other great schools. Those are just some of my top choices that came to mind first =)

You might also add Syracuse to your list of schools to look at. You could likely visit Ithaca and Syracuse on one day. You could also visit Emerson and BU on one day.

You may find that most of the faculty is also gone in the summer. So, your visits would be more to the schools overall than to the specific departments.
