As a New Yorker who has never lived anywhere else in my life, I immediately fell in love with the warm, pleasant, southern atmosphere I saw at Vanderbilt. I am considering applying ED1 but I have one concern. Though everything appealed to me when I visited Vanderbilt, I noticed that some of the possible majors I may be interested in pursuing were not available. I know you can make your own major, but does that actually work? Also, would there be a lot of restrictions? Please if anyone has created their own major or knows some who has fill me in.

Thanks!

I didn't make my own major, but I found a way to make a major work for me that I didn't think could work. What type of major are you considering that is not at Vanderbilt?

If it's business, please check out HOD with a minor in Managerial Studies because while it is not a traditional undergrad business degree, it is a competitive degree that will get you into MBA school which is really the only business degree that matters.

Thanks for the HOD suggestion it does appeal to me, but I also am interested in international relations. Are there any options for someone with my interests?

The only thing I could recommend for that (from my limited knowledge) is that part of HOD is that you can select one of 6 tracks -- one of the HOD tracks is International Leadership and Development. In addition, doing something with that major and potentially a poli sci minor, I think that'd fulfill your need.

Sorry this is a few days since your reply -- i don't get on here too much anymore.
