I never started any ecommerce websites or anything, but I do freelance programming and web design through GetACoder.com.

The only problem I think is that the idea makes the business -- there isn't just some magic formula. Think about what you are good at or passionate about and market that to people.

I'm making a daily income off of Adsense, not much, like around $20/$30 a day. I've been on the forums of sitepoint.com and digitalpoint.com learning all about making money. It's a simple blog about computer hardware. I don't know php, so I've been using Wordpress, but I can make a mean CSS layout. I don't depend on affiliate products, although, I did make $14 off of one sale on my tropical fish website.

A kid at our school founded a website call Clubnest. It's not a business, but it's supposedly a pretty big phenomenon for high school clubs to keep track of things.

The only business I do online is buying R4s from China and reselling them to my friends for a $25 profit (and no I'm not going to put that on my applications).
