Hopefully, it will be this. Basically, if any one of these classes if full by the time I get to register, I am screwed. Erth LE and Vis 60 LE are only offered once...

3-3:50 Earth 50

Tuesday

My one worry is getting from VIS 60 ST to Chem in ten minutes, but the places are pretty close together.

For many of the classes we're signing up for, there are a few standard offered Lecture times (some MWF string of classes) with multiple possible discussion times for that lecture time, one of which you sign up for (the Discusions will be highlighted in a different color than the lectures). Signing up for that one discussion will sign you up for that lecture. You are not attending every discussion listed, only the one you sign up for. You are always attending the lecture at the time you chose.

A few have you sign up for the lecture, and then attend the one offered discussion. For our year of classes though, the former is more common.

I thought it was lyk we choose whether to select the lecture and then "plan" to attend one of the discussions OR select a specific discussion and automatically get enrolled in the corresponding lecture.

does anyone know if the teachers are really strict about coming on time? I think two of my classes are going to have to be 10 minutes apart, and I'll have to go from Peterson Hall to the Warren Lecture Hall in 10 min (looking at the map, it seems like kind of a long distance).

it should take 8 min and 8 sec to walk from Peterson Hall to Warren Lecture Hall given you take the shortest path between the two buildings. the thing i'm worried about is any construction activities that could possibly obstruct that particular path but other than that, if we run, we could probably make good time.

I'm worried about that too. I've tried to choose lectures that are more than 10 minutes apart, but it's proving to be difficult.

Oh, and as I'm creating my third option... I'm choosing the lecture and then selecting one of the possible discussion times listed below that lecture. Any confirmation that I'm doing this correctly? Yes no maybe so?

Yeah, when your making your schedule, it's fine. Just remember when you're enrolling, you have to pick by whichever part is purple, hottie.

Which sucks if the Lecture part is purple, cuz then I guess you don't get to choose when you have the discussion? And if the discussion is purple, then you are choosing both the discussion and the lecture. Amirite?

here is the info for the person who wanted to know about the differences between lecture and discussion:

• The lecture is most often a large group (200+) of students. The purpose is to listen and take notes while the professor lectures.

• The discusion (or section) is a much smaller sub-group of the class (30 or fewer). It is usually taught by a graduate student. This is the interactive part of the course where assignments are given and collected, questions are answered, and lecture material is reviewed and discussed.

Problem: Potential back-to-back classes with considerable distances to cross in 10 minutes. Question: Which is the lesser of two evils? A 15 minute walk once a week, or a 13 minute walk twice a week? Either way I feel like I'm screwed. (fyi, I'm using the map link from a previous post.)

Oh yeah, and I have to register in 34 minutes... crraaapppp.
