Creative Communication is not a scam.
It's free to enter, at no cost to the students/families.
It's true that their aim is to sell anthologies,
but it's a good venue to encourage many students to write & contribute,
while Cr. Comm also makes $.

For sure it's not a "highly prestigeous" contest.
But look, it's EXTREMELY difficult to win in those contests,
so students need to "season" themselves first,
by writing & submitting to "lower" level contests.
Do serious writers only aim for the Pulitzer or the National Book Award,
without having "worked their way up" first?

FYI, quite a few of local & area school students have been Top Ten winners
in Cr. Comm;
and they are truly very strong writers (have been award winners in prestigeous contests, including national & state winners in Scholastic, NCTE, & more).
