ugh. I really don't know what to do. I've written a supplementary essay for Princeton, and 2 people on CC loved it, my Aunt said it was very good, and then, my school essay editor says it needs to be slightly fixed. I think some of her edits detract from the creativity and imagery of the essay. It sounds stunted, a little.
When does it get to a point where I should ignore someone's criticism?

Dude, this is your essay. Take what you feel is useful and ignore what you feel isn’t. She’s not the one applying to college here; you are.

^ While it’s important to listen to what others have to say, it is ltimately your essay, and should be a reflection of who YOU are and how YOU write, not anyone else.

I just read your essay and gave you some comments. The bottom line is that, in my opinion, it needs work. I think there are some issues with both the content (which is subjective, to some extent) and the grammar (which is not subjective and needs to be fixed - and frankly, if no one has called it out to you I would really question whether they are being honest in their assessments and/or have sufficient knowledge of appropriate grammar). We’re talking Princeton here - if the grammar is incorrect, that won’t bode well for you. It’s of course up to you as to whether you want to address the content issues.
