Creative Evaluation Process

Will my work (applied to DW) only get read if my application gets me into the general NYU, or do both respective admission offices review it at the same time? Just wondering… I emailed Tisch about a month ago asking about this but never heard back, I’m not sure how to figure this out.

wing, Tisch will evaluate your writing sample while NYU's admissions office completes your academic review. Each is equally weighted.

Here's how I heard the NYU/Tisch/DW process described, but I sure can't remember where, so my accuracy is highly questionable...would sure love to hear from an NYU AdCom about it, but they've got better things to do than post on CC these days :)

Creative portfolio reviewed, and an accept/reject pile is generated.

Academic quals reviewed, and an accept/reject pile is generated.

No overlap.

Then the "accepts" from academics go over to Tisch reviewers, who combine it with their own "accept" pile. From that, the Tisch people create a balanced, diversified, creative, you-name-it entering class that they can teach to become the next Wassersteins, Kushners, etc. They must make cuts at that stage, too.

Also waiting around here, same program. It's a bite, isn't it.

Good luck.
