Creative Math Path?

Long story short, I want to broaden both my application and learning horizons by switching into honors math, and I want to catch up fairly quickly. College math has become way too easy.

Honors Math track @ my high school (4 classes each semester):
9th: Algebra 1 and Geometry
10th: Algebra II and Trig
11th: Pre Calc
12th: AP Calc AB

My track, desired:
9th: Algebra I Col
10th: Geometry Col and Trig Honors
11th: Algebra II Honors and Pre Calc
12th: AP Calc AB

So right now i am finishing geom, which I have a 95 average in, not including the final, which I got a 100 on. I really would like to move up to the honors math track, and the only honors math course planned for next semester for current sophomores is trig. My idea is that I do trig, while self studying the algebra ii subjects i need to know, and then do the actual algebra ii honors class first semester next year. I was wondering if this was actually possible. Do any of you think that this could be done?

Well, I was in Geometry 10th grade and aced all of the tests without ever studying.
In 11th grade I was suppose to take Algebra 2 but I signed up for Precalculus. The first couple of tests I bombed because I didn’t study them (the last time I took algebra was in 8th grade… ha)

But after I started to try more I ended up getting to be #1 in the class. And I got 100% on every test pretty much.

What I think you should do is learn ALL the algebra 2 concepts that are required for trig class. Then just switch into that class directly.

Yes I think so, My guidance councilor said something about that, but I didn’t want to do though lol. My schools honors math track resembles your schools. My math path weird:

9th: Algebra I
10th(grade in now): Geometry and Algebra II
11th: Pre-Calc, AP Calculus AB
12th: AP Calculus BC.

Overall I think you’re fine.
