I'm doing this "words project" for IB Eng. II class, and I need some suggestions. It doesn't have to be in any certain format, and that's the part I'm having trouble with. I have to do something to describe how powerful words can be.

I might end up writing an essay or something -_-

Maybe look at some famous speeches from the past couple centuries and pull out some words and phrases that are well-known today and describe the impact they have had. One idea..

how powerful words can be...hmm
by words do you mean the written word, the spoken word or both?

how about attempt to answer the question:

what would the world be like without words (in other words if everyone were mute and/or illiterate)?

you can critique essay word usage...take sentences and play with them. replace certain words with a higher level vocab and see how the meaning of the paragraph changes

analysis of colloquialisms/slang (who starts these sayings? where are they commonly used?)

what if you said certain things in the opposite tone...like say "i hate you" in a happy tone and say "I love you" in an moody, arrogant tone. how does this change the power of spoken word?
