Creative Writing at Mount Holyoke

I'm a high school senior planning on applying to Mount Holyoke (possibly as ED). I am a writer, and while I don't want to study writing completely, I do want to take various creative writing courses in college. Every time I've visited Mount Holyoke I've enjoyed the atmosphere there, and if it weren't because of the fact the information about the creative writing options it has is limited on the website, I would say it's my first choice. So I'm wondering how the creative writing classes at MHC are (I've heard that they can be hard to get into) and what the options specifically are for those interested in creative writing. Since it's a special concentration in the English major, what are the requirements? If I was interested in something other than English for a major, could I make a sort of minor out of creative writing courses? I realize that one does not need to study writing to become a writer, but I am considering doing an MFA after college, and would like ample opportunity to create a strong portfolio while I'm doing my undergrad. So how would my experience as a writer be at MHC?
Thanks so much in advance!
