Creative Writing- Hamilton/Wesleyan/Colby

So I am looking at applying to Hamilton College, Wesleyan University and Colby College. I plan on majoring in English or Creative Writing. I really want to focus on being a better writer. Does anyone have any input on the english/writing programs at these schools? Pros and cons of each?

All three are known for being very writing intensive across all disciplines. Wesleyan has a list of writer alum as long your arm, including one who passed away yesterday:

We visited all three with someone with similar interests. All are very impressive in person, although I don’t have any great knowledge of these specific programs. Wesleyan strikes me as perhaps the most likely for creative writing and TV/film/etc., but you’d do well at all of them.

How about Kenyon? In general, it is very similar, and I’m always blown away by the writers it produces. We know a current student who went there for the English/writing program and is loving it. Kenyon is also probably one tick less competitive than these three schools. Scroll through this list of alums, including several writers you’ll probably recognize:

Middlebury certainly has a great reputation too.

Good luck!
