Would it be a good idea to send in a creative writing supplement with the application if you don't intend to go into creative writing (or even English... I want to study chemistry)? I enjoy writing stories and poetry in my spare time, but none of my ECs reflect this and I don't want to do it as a career. However, I do think I could write something that might impress them...

Any thoughts?

Send them whatever the hell you want. Whatever you think makes you unique or at least what makes you appear unique to them.

If creative writing is one of your strengths, definitely take that to your advantage when you do the uncommon essays.

I remember Libby Pearson wrote somewhere way back that supplementals never change an applicant from a "no" to a "yes."

What I would do, if I were you, is talk about your interest in creative writing in the additional info section, and skip the supplement.

I threw in pretty much anything I could.
