<p>Yeah, I got my first card about 6 months ago and ever since I started using it I've gotten dozens of solicitors from other companies. My bank also offered me a debit card but I never use it b/c it doesn't est credit.</p>
<p>if the debit card is free might as well take it. it just gives you the option of taking money directly out of your bank account. i know my parents both have debit cards even though they have many many credit cards. </p>
<p>i think debit cards are good for college students b/c you can't spend more than you have. i have a credit card to my parents account (for emergencies only :-)) but they put a limit on how much i can spend b/c as a college student i'd probably spend a ton of their money.</p>
