Credit expiration

Hello i'm curious about my credits and how they expire. I have an associates degree from a community college in math and science(computer science major) which took me 3 years and i took a year off. I heard that credits "expire" after 7 years although i've heard that credits besides computer classes don't expire. If i take another year off before transffering making it 5 years since i started my major, 2 years since the completion of it, does that mean i have to finish my degree at a 4 year within 2 years? Am i "safe" or would they renew in a sense at the 4 year school if i transfer before they expire? Would i be able to complete the last remainding junior and senior year at my own pace instead of 2 years?

Yes, there is a recertification process required if courses were taken more than 7 years ago. My understanding is that it is not how long ago you took a specific course but if you have been away from college for 7 years. You should be ok.
