August 24 is when I will begin Pellissippi State Community College. I will be going with everything paid for including books. I am very determined to transfer from PSCC to UT to get my bachelors. The problem with this is I have had peers and family who have attended PSCC as well as UT that have informed me not all credits will transfer (In fact my cousin only got half transferred)! I was wondering if it would be wise to take 1 year here, then transfer to UT so hopefully maybe - just maybe- I could keep all credits when transferring?
Please rest assured that you can have all of your credits transfer from Pellissippi State to your in-state public school of choice. All you have to do is follow one of the established Tennessee Transfer Pathways. They show you EXACTLY what classes to take at Pellissippi to be sure you get full credit once you transfer. I’ll try to add the link here but if it doesn’t work, just go to the Pellissippi website and do a search for Tennessee Transfer Pathways. Also be sure to meet with your academic advisor each semester to go over your planned courses and be sure you are on track.

Finally, Pellissippi often hosts transfer coordinators from state schools - be sure to keep an eye out for notices that they will be on campus. They will usually try to meet one-on-one with interested students as well. Take advantage of these opportunities to get any of your questions answered.
If you are getting everything paid for, including books, I strongly recommend you finish one of these pathways before transferring. Good luck!
