Credit or Debit?

get 2 credit cards brutha:
amex blue cash back or blue for students if you get declined for cashback

and wamu platinum mastercard

amex is my preferred though, wamu gives u free credit checks

It all depends what kind of situation you're in. If you have a job, then getting a credit card wouldn't be such a bad option. But if you want to closely monitor your spendings, then get the debit card which will still allow you to use credit but it doesn't give you a whooping month to pay it off. Get a credit card for emergencies, and use credit/debit for any other uses.

You need to actually use the credit card, maybe just buy a t-shirt online, pay the bill and keep it steady.

yeah, a credit card does nothing for your credit history if you dont use it. the whole point is to build a history of on time payments to show to future creditors/lenders that you are responsible and will pay them their money back instead of defaulting on the loan.

i always thought debit card purchases draw from your account immediately. or at least a pre-authorization draw to hold the funds in your account.

if thats the case, then debit will never act like credit because the transaction will not go through unless you have sufficient funds.

That is what I thought.
