Credit space needs filling...HELP!

Ok, so I've finished both IB and AP and now I have some classes I can cancel out of.

LSU's CATS program recommended I take Bio 1201, Bio 1208, Chem 1201, Math 1505, and English 1001. All 5 add up to 15 hours.

However, with my AP English Comp score I'm exempt from English 1001.

My ultimate goal is to get into medical school and I wanted to know if any additional science classes i.e. nuclear science, pathobiological science, psychology, would help or be too much to take on freshman year.
I'm also considering maybe taking Latin, hoping that it would help with anatomy, or army physical fitness training to get me into shape.

Any advice/opinions would be really appreciated.

Oh, and GEAUX TIGERS!

My advice would be to check your degree audit and try get something easy out of the way. You’re already taking on 4 difficult math/science classes. Maybe take an “arts” class to get your gen ed out of the way if you don’t have one yet. Music Appreciation is a good bet. It’s really up to you though.

1.) I doubt you’ll be able to take any of the PBS or nuclear science courses as a freshman. Most of those are graduate level classes anyway (IF they are even offered). So that leaves PSYC out of what’s left.

2.) Just because a class is in the catalog, doesn’t mean it’s offered to register to take. So, as advice, use the catalog for course descriptions and use PAWs to see what courses are actually offered.

3.) Don’t take Latin just because you think it’ll help you with anatomy in medical school. As future advice, don’t take courses JUST because you think it will help you in medical school. If you are interested in the course material take it, but don’t do it because you think it’ll give you a leg up.

I took 18 my first semester. If you have a good background in Bio, Chem and if you previously taken Calculus, then your first semester shouldn’t be bad.

take it easy. your first semester is going to be a difficult life transition, even if your classes aren’t hard at all.

don’t be afraid to take a course over again. your GPA is incredibly important for med school. don’t **** it up.

Instead of taking the language Latin, you can take CLST 2092 - Latin Terminology (Classical studies class) instead. It’s a Latin vocab class.
