If I do an internship, is it possible to receive college credit units?

Thank you very much.

I am currently doing an internship and they told me that they are able to offer me college credits. If I receive college credits, will they be transferable to UC colleges when I am a community college student?

Thank you very much.

If the internship is able to offer you college credits, then you should ask if people previously interning were able to get UC credit.

Also, stop bumping old threads. YOU ARE VERY ANNOYING. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

I want to apologize for appearing hostile, for some reason I can't edit my post.

Also if you are planning to get credit for doing an internship, be aware that college courses are more important and don't go overboard on internships. If you plan on getting a job in the future, college grades are much more appealing than a bunch of units on interning. I'm not saying interning is bad but don't plan on using all those units to transfer

I've heard some community colleges give community college credit for interning, they have some programs for paralegals, and maybe some csus for some departments. I think for UCs for some minors you can intern to get credit but not for majors. The thing about an internship for credit is the amount of time you need to dedicate to get the credit. I think I read somewhere you can get up to 15 units by doing an internship but I don't know how many hours you need to spend. Besides you need to remember you are also required to study for other classes during that time so if it's not a burden on your schedule then go for it.

I would like to reiterate that its best to just ask your internship program about how past internees got credit

Thank you very much for the information! I really appreciate your help.

I am currently interning at a state senator's office and they informed me that they are able to offer me college credits. I will have to ask my community college if those college credits are transferable. If so, I do not plan on going overboard on the credits that I can potentially receive from the internship; some credits would be nice considering that it is an unpaid internship. I am planning to major in Political Science so that is why I decided to intern for a politician.

Thank you very much for your help.

You should diversify your extracurriculars because I don't think your the first political science major to think of interning for a politician
