I don't have personal experience with Creighton, but I know people who've attended, enjoyed it and gotten into medical school. Certainly here in the Midwest (I'm in Illinois), Creighton has a good reputation and particularly a reputation for pre-med. Having attended a Jesuit university (U Scranton, which I once heard referred to as "the Creighton of the East"), I'd be shocked if Creighton was filled with "bible thumpers." Frankly, bible study is not nearly as big among Catholics as it is in other religions, and in my experience Jesuit institutions tend to be open minded and accepting.

I know someone who attended Creighton for undergrad (psychology), got an excellent education, did a ton of research as an undergrad, and currently attends a graduate program in international psychology (where she has found the course wor somewhat simple, given her UG education). She's politically liberal and not at all religious.

My daughter's best friend is a freshman at Creighton. She was a top student in high school--valedictorian, athlete, editor of the school paper, etc.--and continues to work hard on campus, while enjoying her dorm and the people she's met. She is smart, social, industrious, and very happy at the university.
