Is there rowing at Cornell other than vasity? and what's the likelihood of walking on?

Are you male/female? Heavy or lightweight?

I though about joining as a walk-on (female lightweight) but I’m unsure now.

I have a friend who is a male lightweight recruit, he rowed on the U19 Canadian national Men’s 8+ and pulls a 6:30 on an erg. He told me to make a boat, you should be aiming for at least a 1:41 (for a 2k) split as a lightweight male. Obviously, this does not take into consideration your experience and technique.

I hope you are joking, Cornell has one of the best lightweight programs in the country, so its VERY big here. I may try out for one of the other boats, I can’t pull a 6 30 haha

Try it, you can take Crew for your PE credit for Fall semester and see how you do.

My son was a “swim on”, the Crew Coach was conducting the swim tests during orientation, saw he was fit, and encouraged him to try out. He had no prior crew experience.
