I am a coxswain on a really good crew team, and was wondering what top tier schools would be best to look at, and that also recruit?
I have around a 3.7 gpa, and solid ec's.
Ideas?
I'm looking either west or northeast.

Well, the Ivies have some great crew teams.

Out west, try U Washington and Cal.

ok thanks.
do you think a 3.7 holds a chance with the ivies, even being an athlete?

Probably depends on how good you are and what SAT/ACT scores you have...but, worth looking into.

Good luck!

Chelsea, agree with UCBChemEGrad. Also look at Georgetown and BU.

ok thank you so much!
anyone else?
BUMP

In the Northeast, the Boston, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. area schools come to mind. Also, the Ivy League, the Patriot League and the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) programs at Bates, Colby, Connecticut College, Hamilton, Trinity, Tufts, Wesleyan and Williams. Other ideas include UVA, Delaware, Ohio State and the many West coast programs.

ok thanks.
Is recruitment very intense for the NESCAC, because I really have a desire for Tufts and Welseyan. Also Princeton, but understandably that's a reach.

Chelsea, some other good schools to consider are Boston College, GWU, Fordham and Ct. College. You can probably contact the coaches off of the colleges athletic sites. Good luck!

NESCAC sports are NCAA Division III so there would be no athletic scholarships and the recruiting would understandably be less intense. Williams, Amherst and Middlebury in particular value student-athletes and are regularly near the top overall in NCAA Division III sports, but only Williams has women's crew to my understanding. New England Small College Athletic Conference

ok thank you so much exploringoptions.
