<p>So i am looking to apply RD to Columbia. What is crime like on and off campus? How is security?</p>

<p>From what I hear, on campus is 100% safe. It’s not safe to leave the campus at night. My knowledge is all secondhand though.</p>

<p>The campus is 100% safe and it is also safe to leave campus at night. I probably wouldn’t recommend anyone walking around Morningside Park at night; however, walking down Amsterdam or Broadway is extremely safe.</p>
<p>Broadway is fine. Amsterdam looks sketchy as well 24/7 but it’s also safe. Sinefine is right about Morningside Park. And don’t cross over Morningside Drive into East Harlem at night, especially if your skin demeanor will cause you to “stick out”.</p>
<p>I have had more sketch experiences at night on Amsterdam than Broadway. I think its mostly because there are more homeless people on Amsterdam.</p>
