Crime at Cornell!

So, who else got that e-mail? I'm not really worried at all, but I'm just curious if this type of thing happens often.

This is probably the second crime e-mail I’ve gotten in the past two semesters.

No, it doesn’t happen often at all.

Chron: unfortunately you’ll find some frequency of crime at every campus in the country. Understanding the severity of the problem is, of course, a matter of statistical analysis. While students should take proper precautions at Cornell (as at any school), the university nevertheless fares at the more fortunate end of the bell curve for frequency of crimes on campuses. This is a relative positive for Cornell as compared with most big city institutions.

Crime e-mails come in every so often, almost always for small things. Get used to it :P

I’ve received more crime alerts from the school where I work in 6 months than in my three years at Cornell.

Crime does happen on campus every so often. Follow proper safety precautions and you shouldn’t have trouble. I felt very safe at Cornell…even when I did dumb things like walk home alone from the library at 2 am.

yeah it’s cute to see the term “petit larceny” used in crime reports :D

Some of the crime e-mails are pretty funny.

Last semester there was one about somebody walking into an open frat house and walking away with random stuff…

I think sending out a general “crime update” is mandatory so students can’t complain about there not being any type of crime watch when something (forbid) big does happen.

You shouldn’t be scared because some frats are dumb enough to leave windows and doors open so that people can walk in and steal stuff. Nobody got murdered.

should people sacrifice a cool breeze just because there’s scum in the world?

can someone remind me when the guy felt up some sleeping beauty at night in ctown?

ahhh the collegetown creeper… [Collegetown Creeper Identified | The Cornell Daily Sun](http://cornellsun.com/node/30527)

thanks vivace!

Oh yeah, I remember him…
