probably an irrelevant question
BUT…
upon discussing prospective colleges for me, one of my friends chirped in, “D.C. looks like a dump and has a high crime rate.”
anyone care to refute that?

Yeah, a friend of mine told me that her parents wouldn't let her attend AU because it was "on the bad side of town," so when I came to visit, I expected broken windows and buildings falling apart and hustlers on every street corner..

When I got there, that was far from the truth. American seemed safe and comfortable..I couldn't even begin to see what she had been talking about.

AU a dump? haha we live side by side w/ diplomats!!!

(ie: one of the frat houses, which is close 2 school, is NEXT DOOR to a diplomat)

In addition AU is located like right on embassy row. Whoever told you guys that AU is located in a seedy neighborhood is DEAD WRONG.

lol. Since when is Foxhall Road a dump?

LMAO? AU's campus is located in one of the nicest, suburban parts of D.C.

Yeah, most of the homes surrounding AU are multimillion dollar homes. There are lots of parts of DC that you really shouldn't go to, but like in any city, people use common sense.
