<p>So I just got a message from my UCR webmail saying that there were like 2 robberies or w/e near UCR. I also remember like a month ago that a girl got sexually assaulted near UCR too. Does this happen on a regular basis? o.0 Cuz now I'm having second thoughts about going to Riverside...</p>
<p>I wouldn’t worry about it too much…there is crime in every city across the country…as long as you use some common sense you should be safe:</p>
<p>-Don’t go outside of campus wondering at night…especially by yourself.
-Ditto like the first point but early in the morning.
-Travel with at least one other person.
-Don’t go wondering around in secluded areas…the more people the better.</p>
<p>Yeah, I hear UCR is ok but the city is pretty ghetto. I hope its not too bad, I don’t want to stay on campus all the time.</p>
<p>The city is nt totally ghetto just like any city with 300,000 ppla their are bound to have nice affluent parts (MLK Blvd ironically) and ghetto parts near downtown</p>
<p>One of the girls who got assaulted was on her scooter alone (and on a cell phone?) at around 9 pm. The other was jogging alone while listening to her iPod around 11:30 pm.</p>

<p>Also, use the Campus Escort Service. I’ve heard that the service is a bit slow at times, but I’d rather be safe and slow than sorry.</p>

<p>No it wasnt a prank. The description of the men were similar. It was a white man who has been attacking. Of course they were by themselves, so always take a friend with u if its late.
this happens everywhere in the us, especially by campuses. Just be smart about it.</p>
