Do universities and colleges (, particularly Illinois public universities) usually inquire whether or not an applicant has a criminal record on an admissions application and/or look to see if an applicant has a criminal record? Would a criminal record (and along with it the type of offense, when the offense occurred, etc.) factor into an admissions decision?
Yes, it is a question on most applications.
It also may be a factor in deciding if you can live in a dorm.
