Crisis on ISIS!

Boy, hazelorb was totally right about ISIS. I was timing it to log in to ISIS a few seconds after 7 to nab a course but I was totally course-blocked. Basically staring at a blank page wondering who is actually getting in...

Haha, I logged in a little before 7, got in okay, but then nothing loaded once I clicked "Course Enrollments" (which I'm not even sure is the right link) at 7:00.

Anyway, I had to refresh, and now I'm back to the beginning... this is kind of pointless; I think I'll check back later.

same here. i think im going back to bed :)

It's not going to load anytime soon, I bet everyone is clicking the refresh button every 30 seconds, and that's just making it worse haha.

Oh, I can stand it no longer. LORD!

come back this afternoon if you absolutely can't wait till tomorrow. It's funny how people will choose to disregard the warnings and actually get up at 7am to stare at ISIS trying to load. Have fun

What is the maximum number of users that can log into ISIS? 10? I've been trying off and on for the past 3 hours and now I'm wondering why UVa can't spend a little extra on the fricking bandwidth!

I know, it's annoying -- I gave up two tries though, because it's like hazelorb and the others said, everyone is trying/refreshing at once. Just leave it for now, and try again tomorrow, or better yet, next week. I doubt there's going to be much change within ISIS right now.

What I'm wondering is whether most (if not all) of the traffic is coming from first years and not upperclassmen who know how ISIS is on August 1...

it's mostly first-years because they don't know about the stall that will occur. However, August 1 is the date that all college kids can register for more than 15 credits so the upperclassmen are also looking to fill classes too. Fortunately for e-schoolers, they lets u sign up for 19 credits on the day we registered.

It doesn't make much sense for the school to invest in allowing more students to access ISIS because Aug 1 is the only day you'll run into problems.

So how does one go about adding courses once on ISIS?

I logged on momentarily but kept getting this message whenever I clicked "Course Enrollment":
ALERT 008: To enroll in Summer Session Courses,
select 'Summer Registration'
(NOT Course Enrollment)
...except I'm trying to enroll in Fall classes, not Summer classes.

Change your desired semester to "083" instead of "082". There's a box at the top of the main page where you can do this.

Okay, thanks!

Lol, Protean. With a 5 billion dollar endowment, I would think UVa could pinch a few pennies and make sure they have acceptable bandwidth. I've been up since 6:59 AM and I still can't log in!

I got in (luckily :D) and I switched most of my classes to the ones I wanted. :) I got CHEM 181! hahaha!

I tried around 12:30 and got in on my second try (after sporadic attempts since 10). ISIS shut me out after 30 min and then when I logged back in, it took about 10 minutes. I guess it's easier to change when you're halfway around the world.

also, I kept getting that white blank screen after swapping courses. Reload the page and it'll come up with the results. Maybe empty your cache and cookies jask? I don't know if it'll help, but it couldn't hurt. (don't ask me how to do it outside of firefox. I have no clue.)

I only have two things left to do: switch my Bio lab time (it conflicts with another class) and then add my Hindi class. Good luck everyone!

P.S. I feel like we're all hunting. (or trying to view admissions decisions haha.)

Haha, I got in around 1:30 and basically got everything I wanted. Yay!

Congrats, db! I used Firefox as well and also had to reload several times whenever I got a blank white screen.

Good luck, jask!
