Criteria for Wharton as an undergrad?

Are there recommended courses, extracurriculars, test scores, etc. for applications to Wharton?

Courses: AP Calculus
Extracurricular: Business related, though not at all a requirement
Tests: Math ii subject test, SATs are often in the 2300s for accepted students on these boards.

If your school has DECA, join, or better off, run for an officer position. Start a business - Wharton likes entrepreneurs. SATS are very high (the 2300 marks sounds about right). Take all the same tough courses as you would for any elite school, as much AP/IB/honors as possible. Excel in Economics (your degree at Wharton is econ).

Thanks! I’m president of the business club and do FBLA, though not DECA since we don’t have an active chapter yet. I don’t have room in my schedule for econ next year as a senior though - is that a high school requirement for prospective undergrads?

FBLA and business club should be fine (DECA is a little better known, but I’m sure UPenn/Wharton admissions will know FBLA). I don’t think Wharton requires that you have economics - I’m just suggesting that you take it in high school to provide a good background for business school. One requirement is to take the SAT II subject test in math - you’ll need that score for your application. Otherwise, LOTS of leadership and proof of entrepreneurship. Any awards from FBLA would be nice as well.

Thanks for the advice, Suchann. I’ve taken the SAT Math II and have gotten awards in FBLA so I hope I’m on the right track. :)
