Critical Reading December 2008 Test Version 2: Korean Mother, Nature, etc.

i remember the question was like
the unconventional director ____ audience's expectation, but for him it was ____..

I think there's a a word like but or although linking the sentence.. if that's so we have to fill in a word that is closest to conventional? i don't know it's just my thought...

i definately got it wrong anyway

that question was way offf.... it didnt say "for him" %100 sure

anyone do the childhood passage?

I put unorthodox, that was the second word I believe, the first word was accomodate.

it was confound/commonplace

^That settles it :) lol

josh is correct... navigation, was one of the answers something for the almanac???? and was another of thos answers "to show the exploration of the different countries??"" or somthing like that>?

omg, it cant be commonplace... cuz an avant grande filmaker would make unorthodox films... common place is the exact opposite.. the word "unconventional" is even in the sentence

josh is correct... navigation, was one of the answers something for the almanac???? and was another of thos answers "to show the exploration of the different countries??"" or somthing like that>?

not sure if that almanac one is correct

for questions refering to the list of European countries, the "to show exploration of different countries" choice is wrong cuz the passage/pagraph doesnt say anything about European explorers, the answer is i something like Europeans needed to defend their overseas empire

Did anyone get the answer "To add support to a claim" for one of the navigation answers concerning the explorers?

hmm i had this passage but i dont remember much about it, it was tough though, the Big Brother one was harder though

You know, until I came on here, I had no idea the mother was Korean. I thought it was about a Kenyan lady or something! Haha

i got that too.... and did they say Europeans needed to defend their overseas empire either? it seem the passage was impying that they were exploring since they needed to naviagte. i could be wrong

and can someone validate "unothodox"?

commonplace can be right.

it wasn't techniques commonplace to regular theater; it was techniques commonplace to THAT director.

no, im pretty sure it was the audiance

i got that too.... and did they say Europeans needed to defend their overseas empire either? it seem the passage was impying that they were exploring since they needed to naviagte. i could be wrong

Unless we know the exact sentence and the exact word that goes with ....unorthodox, we'll never know...

ok, but i don't think so.

and why would an avant-garde filmmaker's work accomodate the expectations of regular audiences?
no offense. i just really don't think it makes sense.

^That's exactly the logic I used to cross that out. Honestly, I picked confounded because every other answer choice was worse.

it makes sense because the aduiance knew he was an unconventional fimlmaker.... what was the exact sentence (and im pretty sure it dosnt end with filmakers perspective)
