Critical Reading has always been the obstruction on my way to get a good SAT score. :/
I am preparing for my SAT since August this year.
I get a 760 on an average on the math section and 750 on writing section, highest being a 780. But I never score more than a 560 on the Critical Reading x( thats usually just a 38/67 :'(
This doesn't allow me to sleep peacefully -_-
The "How to Attack the SAT Critical Reading Section Effectively" hasn't really worked out for me :/
Or maybe i just coudnt apply the methods Notiaraprep suggested in his thread.
The SAT is now 100 days away!
I want to get atleast a 650 on the CR section :(
Do you guys think that just practicing and reviewing the wrong one's will help me increase 100 points in 100 days?
Well another reason of this low CR score maybe my aweful vocab -.-
Help will be really appreciated :) Thanks :)

“Well another reason of this low CR score maybe my aweful vocab -.-”
I think you know the answer to that -_______- and it’s awful (I’m assuming that’s a typo)

Obviously you need to know lots of vocab, how do you expect to know what they are saying in a passage or what the question is asking you? They don’t ask you straightforward questions or questions in it’s simplest form. In my opinion, that’s why methods are not working for you to increase your score and you’re stuck where you’re!

Which area in the CR are you having the most trouble? The sentence completion or the passage reading?

The best advice I can give you for sentence completion is to first write in the blanks words that you come up with that you think are appropriate. Then, look for the word in the answer choice that is most similar to your word.

The best advice I can give you for reading passage questions (the same advice I got) is to base your answer on textual evidence (in other words, base it on the words written on the passage, NOT on how you feel).

The fastest way to improve is to see how the SAT “masters” solve particular CR problem, and just see how they think. You’ll develop a pattern once you see enough. If you want to know a good site that shows you this, just message me :)

007Science: Yep. Will Direct Hits be enoff to ace the sentence completion part?
SATcrammers: Well, I am bad at both to be honest. ya can you message me that site ? :)

So guys basically what should be my approach from today ?
How should I Practce and tackle this section?

I don’t think one book can help you master the sentence completion. While I am using direct hits, I don’t disregard other sources. For instance when I am doing a practice test from the blue book and there are words I don’t know I write them down. Even if I am reading a post on CC or doing the SAT question of the day( anywhere actually) as long as I don’t know it I make a note of it so when I see it again I’d know it :)

Word Smart I and II OR Direct Hits?
