Hi guys,

Im an international student and just started studying in a truly "English environment" since last year. I only got 470 for Critical reading and especially very weak at doing the sections which included two scientific long passages. Do guys have any advices? I already study a lot of vocab from Direct Hit but my comprehension and reading speed seem not to improve

try reading books. fiction or nonfiction, whatever appeals to you the most. the more you read, the more you’ll feel comfortable reading english passages and you’ll probably understand them better as well.

underline topic sentences when you see them, and also take note of ones that have the words “neither/either, however, in addition” or are prefaced with those kinds of words.

it’s a standardized test, so you’ll never really see anything radically new on it. read as much as you can, and take practice sections daily and i’m sure your score will improve. good luck!
