Since they couldn’t use “yawning” as the measure of “sleepiness,” they came up with an alternate method, i.e. to use how fast one falls asleep as the measure of sleepiness. This is based on the assumption written in the last sentence. However, if someone is very sleepy but cannot fall asleep because he/she is too sleepy (B) then one cannot correlate how fast someone falls asleep with the measure of sleepiness and contradics the assumption thus undermining the “simple definition.”
