I need help on the Critical Reading portion of the PSAT. On practice tests, I get perfect math scores and pretty high Writing scores. My CR score is like...51. -_- and it stays that way alll the time -.-

I NEED tips/suggestions please!
I don't want to hear "read more". I KNOW that and I read a lot (in my opinion). In reference to the actual CR section of the PSAT, any advice/tips?

I think the tip that really helped me was this from aussietechie’s SAT Prep Guide:

If your CR score is at 500’s range and you get most of SC correct, you probably don’t even know what the passages are talking about. The problem is that many of the people try to retain info from passages at once. That is just not reasonable. You should break down the passages into smaller portions (I would say 1-2 paragraphs). Mark where you have to pay attention to, and read that sentence as many times you need to understand it completely… You probably have not found a suitable strategy for you. Try different things.

I honestly don’t read the passage through at all unless I’m completely lost. I usually tackle the easy questions (What does “this word” mean in context?) then go on to broader questions.
