With the new SAT, they've really deemphasized the vocab, so it's no longer worth your while to spend hours poring over flashcards and vocab lists. My brother teaches the SAT for Kaplan, and they don't even bother teaching vocab anymore. The important thing is to work on critical reading strategies, but I really don't have any ideas for what you should do, just what you should not do. And since you don't have enough time to read books, I would suggest that you don't have enough time to learn vocabulary altogether, especially inasmuch as its lessened importance is concerned.

alsacharr: nice tip. but i think i might be seriously on to something with my strat. although mine might only work for me

Has anyone done the passages from the 8 real book? THey seem SO MUCH harder!!!

twinkletoes23, which 8 real book are you talking about? The blue one?

^^

probably, i've found it to be harder than PR's review

Really? I thought they were tough too (We're talking about TCB's blue book for the new SAT's right?). I haven't touched PR, since it's not authentic. But shouldn't TCB's blue book be the most accurate with the new SAT? Why are you using PR-- it might give you false hope!

Do most of you read the passages first or use the other method (of going straight to the questions first)? How much time do you usually have left after finishing one critical reading section? Thanks.

krabble: well, i've actually finished one blue book cr section with 5 wrongs. 770max. but usually not as good as this with my other sittings. Surprisingly, i get about this many wrongs in PR and Kaplan's too.

its true blue book's reading is harder, but i've found that their SC is easier than either Kaplans or PR. like i've gotten 100% on SC on 2 straight blue book sittings, and none for K or PR

OMG I FOUND THE SAT CR BIBLE
