Critical Reading?

Okay well, Oct is the last time im taking the SATs. The first time i took it i got a 1500. Throughout the summer i studied Writing and Math and ive been getting between 6-8 wrong for Math and for Writing, this is without time. And now i have to study for Critical Reading. How long do you think it will take for me if i averaged out a 500 on critical reading. I had a 500 on everything. How should i practice now because when i do it timed i do horrible. Will Barron's 2400 help? I'm reading 300 Essential Words and hopefully Direct Hits. Please help. Only 1 month left. I really want above 2000+.

well for writing 6-8 wrong and an average essay will get you a 600… writing is without a doubt the easiest to improve (i went from a 630 to a 770 in about 4 weeks)

math 6-8 wrong is about a 670 but if you sit down and study math for a month you can improve a lot

reading for me was very difficult i got a 590 in march and couldn’t get above a 620 UNTIL i saw this post: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/750399-how-attack-sat-critical-reading-section-effectively.html</a>
that thing actually works… 1 week i got up to a 700. I get maybe 1-2 sentence completion wrong as a whole (certain degree of luck after a while) however i am still expanding my vocab everyday (suggest u do this) princeton review has a great high frequency list that you can use and they actually appear on the SAT.

but to get a 2000 you need a 700-700-600 so you are still far away
haul ass, im trying to get up to a 2200 for october so sort of the same boat
find your weaknesses and find strategies that can improve them, time and practice does make perfect!

First of all, very bad planning… I write this for other people to see and learn. You do not leave so less time for Critical Reading! Math and Writing are easy to improve because they require you to learn a few clear rules.

Critical Reading, however, demands you to change your thinking attitude and that develops slowly. Barron’s should help. Have in mind that their CR is hard. Don’t be shocked by a very low score. You’ll have to do a lot of practice and review very carefully after every single test. Make sure you understand clearly what kind of mistakes you are making and you know how you should think the next time.
