<p>I have a deep passion for foreign language. At the Buddhist place I volunteer, I often switch between English, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish. I am thinking about writing about my multicultural heritage [Thai-Chinese and Korean] and foreign language.</p>

<p>Your stats are great as well as your EC’s! I think some of the ivies will be a challenge, but they are for about everyone! I think you will have a good shot at them if you keep your grades up! : )
Id say the same as above except not as much of a reach for some of the ivies, your grades are very good and your ec’s seem to stand out… Good luck! : )</p>

<p>The SAT’s are considerably low for people applying to top colleges such as the ivies you mentioned. GPA is fine and EC are excellent, although nothing totally jumps off of the page. Overall I think you have some really good chances at the colleges you mentioned</p>

<p>GPA/Class rank looks great, Scores look good, but ECs seem a bit lacking…you have leadership but I’m not seeing much interest? I may be wrong though :)</p>

<p>BDYPS: All reaches, they’re so unpredictable…but you have just as good of a chance as anyone else so good luck :slight_smile: I’d say the only reason you’d get waitlisted/rejected is because of your ECs…just portray some passion and you should be set

<p>Haha. I have a lot of leadership positions, but my interest is for International Relations or International Business. Most of my clubs are for volunteer service, so I wouldn’t really call volunteering a passion :)</p>

<p>I find it very interesting that everyone believes seems to believe that SAT’s are so stringent in the whole 2000+ continuum.</p>

<p>It looks like you’re spreading yourself too thin.</p>

<p>If you’re really passionate about languages, focus on that. Your excessive clubs don’t have much to show for rather than you just doing everything for the sake of looking good on a piece of paper.</p>

<p>Of course, all those private schools are a reach for anyone and depend primarily on your essay, but I’m sure you’ll get into all of those UCs for sure.</p>

<p>I was hoping my EC’s would show my “international” emphasis, but apparently that is not as clear as I had hoped :/</p>

<p>I have been looking for language competitions and things of the sort, but those things seem to be limited to other schools and organizations that I have no access to whatsoever :(</p>

<p>BDYPS - reaches for EVERYONE but they are definitely worth a shot in your case.
University of Chicago- write an out of this world essay that is unique and your in for sure!

<p>the amount of ap’s and rank look really solid. idk if you could improve your sat’s for those ivy’s and stanford.</p>

<p>the foreign language passion could definitely make you stand out though.</p>
