cross campus transferring vs applying

I really want to make it into the engineering program, but at this point, I am wondering whether it would be easier to apply to (say) the school of science instead and then later transfer. Would this be very hard? What if it was done in the first year? I know some other colleges make it easy and some make it difficult to do this. Could someone tell me how hard it would be?

also, if you would, could you chance me for both science and engineering?
(Im just wondering!! i mainly want my question, above, answered!! ^^)

gpa: 3.8 (but only because i do really well in math and science classes. some history classes and some english classes are B/B+s)
i have only taken AP World and AP US because my school requires it, then AP Eng.
senior course load: AP Calc BC, AP Human Geog, Gov, Concert Band, Literature Seminar, college elective in Atmospheric science.
rigor of HS courseload: Band for 4 years, and thats pretty much it.
my school is very restrictive and we got 1 elective choice soph and junior year, and this year, we are limited to a total of 5 classes. (i pushed for hugeo.) i was required to take gov and seminar.

sat/act: 2170/34
SAT 2s: 670 physics, 720 math1, 710 math 2.
APs: AP World 5, AP US 2, AP Eng 4
EC: 3 yrs track, 2 yrs art (copres), 3 yrs scrabble (VP)
and a bunch of clubs for 1 yr like, key, calligraphy, Environmental.
classes outside of school: no-credit online world music class taught by UPenn but i got a certificate of completion, summer youth environmental class.
volunteering: 1 yr botanical gardens, 1 yr library, 3 yrs guidance office, 1 yr boathouse.
essay: well written, but about making origami for family.

what might help: female, best grades (A/A+ in math and sci), selective high school, standardized tests except sat 2's, though i am not submitting those.
what might kill: C in literature seminar (i have public speaking issues), being locked out of science electives because my school wont reschedule me. also my school does not offer ap chem or ap phys.

as you can see, im all over the place :/

You will get into the college of engineering . I am 90% sure

aghh thanks!! <3

i am just worried i dont have any background in science or engineering.
my school does have scioly and first robotics, but i never joined.
i was an aimless wanderer for 3 yrs and suddenly having to apply to colleges made me really think about what i wanted to do.
at this point i am als considering applying to the design innovation and society major.
i like it because a lot of the kids double major in mechE and its more studio based!
(i do have some art background)

I could be wrong, but I don’t think acceptance is based on what school you are Applying
to or what your planned major is.

thanks! hmm i saw somewhere that they only accept a certain number of kids into the design innovation and society major. and considering engineering is in such demand, i would imagine they would need to make sure they can accomodate the number of students? im not sure. where did you hear it?
