cross country

How is the the men's cross country team. Is it good or not.

Is it possible to walk-on or you have to the next Steve Prefontiane to walk-on?

I would get in touch with someone on the coaching staff; they should be able to give you some idea of your chances. (You definitely do not have to be the next Pre.)

that’s a question best answered by the PSU coach … their should be a link on their team page to contact the coach. When I went to college anyone was allowed to walk on to both the XC and track teams since the few extra bodies did not affact practices much at all. That said the pure walk-on guys only got to run in home dual meets … for the guys who really loved running it was worth it … but it is a lot of work for little competition. One big question is how good are you … if you’re close to a PSU level recruited runner … they are probably more likely to let you walk on … and you’re more likely to have a rewarding experience.

I was just wondering. I thought you had to be Alan Webb good to get to even get a spot on the team.
