crossing 13th street

When I was up for a football game a couple of years ago I seem to remember a tunnel that went under 13th street if you are crossing from the east side of 13th to campus. Can anyone tell me where it is? I didn't have time to look for it at preview.

It’s just north of museum road (beaty towers)

It’s on Inner rd. and 13th.

Inner road…lol

Something amusing?

Thanks for the help. I’m going to be living on the east side of 13th kind of near sorority row and I’m trying to map out an easy way to get to classes. For anyone familiar with that area … is it a safe area at night? I may have to ride my bike some …

lol. inner road. the only reason thats funny is because someone else thought it was. (for those who dont get why its funny… were discussing a tunnel and its on the corner of a road called inner)

Nope still don’t get it

You hit it on the nail! The naming of the street must have some relationship with its surrounding (toponym) and I thought it was funny how it relates to the tunnel.

If you don’t find it amusing that’s fine, not everyone gets amused as easily as some.

I’m dumb, I totally missed that. :o

I thought I was being challenged.

I don’t like being challenged.

;)

Apologies to ABCB if I offended you…it was no laughing towards you! :)

Don’t apologize…you have no reason to :D

I can’t brain today. I have the dumb.

reads above discussion about why inner road is funny, then slowly shakes his head in confusion

the tunnel has been made safer as far as not getting run over in the past year. you can ride your bike through there, but make sure you stay on the correct side of the road (also for the easily amused in here… the right side) because there are pedestrians in the tunnel as well.

as for location, the tunnel is directly north of Reid Hall. like.. right outside the door. it goes underneath 13th and there is a path that goes behind the parking garage at norman hall.

as for doing things at night.. get a buddy. try really hard not to walk or even bike (although biking is better than walking) at night if at all possible. im pretty sure SNAP (the van that is run by the police station that you call and that comes and picks you up and takes you anywhere you need to go on campus and which is very convenient but sort of under used i think) will take you over to at least the norman garage, but you could call and ask to make sure (the number is 352 392 SNAP)

that area of town behind sorority row is not known to be the nicest place at night (not to scare you, just dont walk around alone).

be careful!!

Thanks so much for your help. I had heard that several years ago the area around sorority row was not the greatest. So much new development is going on there with new apartment buildings etc…I’m hoping it’s better now. Also, I plan to join a sorority so I’ll probably be in that area alot. Thanks for the advice on being safe. Always better to be safe than sorry. If anyone else has lived in that area recently …I hope you can give me some feedback.

My daughter is moving a block from sorority row this August so I really hope that the area is safe…at night too (when she is walking home from her sorority house)!
