Crucial GPA, college questions that everyone needs to know!

These are some basic questions that I need heavy clarification on!! Thanks

So, do colleges look at your transcripts…or just your gpa? I know grade trends are important so do colleges actually LOOK at your grade trends from year to year( soph to senior) or do they JUST look at your GPA?

All colleges have different ways of matriculating their GPAs. Do most privates and elites( HYPS,etc.,) do an unweighted GPA based off of a 4.0 scale or do they consider it with a weighted GPA.

How should I calculate my GPA, right now, to know where I am in chance-wise? My UW is obviously worse but if I look at it in Weighted format, would i be deluding myself?

When they say that you need a minimum 3.75 for ivies, etc., is that UW or W?

Most colleges need two SAT IIs. Should I take 3 however? Do a lot of prominent universities require three? I thnk Princeton did…

Are independent/private college counselors worth it? Should I spend a large sum of money on one, because I am desparate and I fear my chances?

Yes, they look at your transcript/trends.

Don't know, probably weighted

No

More like 4.0 UW.. Unless you go to an ultra competitive private school or have killer ECs. And before anyone jumps me I'm not suggesting 4.0 will get you in - I'm suggesting it's a prerequisite if you go to a crap public school/have lackluster ECs.

Take 3 if you can score well on all of them.

No

transcript as well as GPA

Some don't recalculate at all, some do either W or UW. IDK what each does.

Unweighted is more reliable because schools have different weighting systems.

Who says that? There is no "minimum." Your app is more than one number.

Check the universities to which you plan to apply.

CC should do you just fine :-).
