Dbwes, is that the equivalent of Two-buck Chuck? Or is this the next grade up? Thanks for the explanation!

Oh, no, not the two-buck chuck! Our local wine shop frowns at the chuck kind, but stocks YT in many varieties.

My update: DD was in a better mood yesterday, and agreed to apply to the big state research U (deadline is tomorrow, as well as for some scholarship essays). I’m not celebrating just yet, because she might have a different opinion tonight…

Thanks BB; I’ll get some Yellowtail today to try it out…my D’s required Hotel school interview is today…

Say a toast to me. I’ve got to jump on my kid’s case. He started the process and was diligent. Now that we want ALL the apps out (and yes I mean we, I want this over too), he has come to a stand still. Common app is done. Those last supplements are just not.

I’m the opposite. I told D that I don’t care about these private colleges. I mean she’s already applied to 5 UCs, she should get in somewhere. However, I suggest that she takes time to write these esays well, that is the only chance she gets to go to these colleges. She is taking her time and thinking through these essays. Right now she is focusing on her senior grades, hoping to pull all As even in her weakest subject.

My D is dragging her feet on several arts supplements. She keeps noodling around with a music composition, changing it and lengthening it. Her aim was to have it performed by a choir, piano and some brass to record and send it, but she can’t even stop writing it! And the film/video example…she’s not done with that either. She may just keep messing with this stuff until the deadlines are over with, lol.
