CrushTheTest SAT Math Prep

Is it good? I'm having trouble with the level 4 & 5 questions.

Try dr john chungs sat math. Good for the hard problems

I was told that I shouldn’t buy it.

Well those have pretty much the same strategy to attack the Math Section, only people seem to do better with Dr. Chungs

ugh…xiggi told me NOT to buy Chung’s, but so many people say that Chung’s is really good. I have no idea who to trust :I

Hmm, yes. The opinion of many whom u do not know, or xiggi, the SAT master. My suggestion, look at them both. If ur in the US, go down to a borders or barnes and noble and open both of them up, im sure they have it. Choose whichever feels better to u. If thats not an option, go to amazon, they have previews. The john chung preview contains 50 or so pages, u can see many of the tips right on the preview

I would go with Xiggi’s advice, but I’m just telling you that CrushtheSat has a very similar approach to the math section as Dr.Chungs, only Dr.Chungs seems to help others moreT. Try doing Xiggi’s guide extensively, should help you improve greatly in math section. I would recommend Dr.Steve’s books, they’re great

Yeah, I had no idea that DrSteve wrote SAT Math books. I think I will get one of those. Which one is the most helpful for someone in the mid-to-high 600’s range?

-The 32 Most Effective SAT Math Strategies, 2nd Edition
-320 SAT Math Problems arranged by Topic and Difficulty Level
-28 SAT Math Lessons to Improve Your Score in One Month - Advanced Course: For Students Currently Scoring Above 600 in SAT Math and Want to Score 800

Thanks :)

Well the first one is if you want strategies to do well on the test, which are effective and very helpful. The second one helps identify where you’re weak since the problems are organized by level and topics. The last will help you clear up your weaknesses in the math topics and gives you advanced lessons in topics covered by SAT

I think you should probably just buy the Dr. Chung math book. Even if Xiggi advises against it, you should decide for yourself. Different strategies work for different people.

I think Dr.Steve’s books will do a better job, they show where your weaknesses are, and there are lessons to help you cover them. Dr.Chungs is good, but you maybe lacking knowledge in a certain field tested on the SAT and you never know.

UGHHHHH I’m so confused. Some people say Chung’s is better, some say Dr. Steve’s is better. :I

people are talking about “Dr Chung” and “Dr Steve” in this thread, however CrushTheTest SAT math prep is not written by either one of these guys. Am I missing something?

Dr.Chungs is a similar math book to CrushtheSat, they give you just the hardest math problems faced in the SAT Math section (ussually the last 2 problems). Dr.Steve is another author who takes a different approach. He provides with 320 problems arranged in difficulty and topic to help show you where your weaknesses are, and has 3 books providing math lessons for different levels(One for beginners, one for intermediate, and one for advanced) and gives you strategies that help you save time and solve problems. As for Yakisoba, stop acting like a 5 year old, everyone has a different opinion, so just make a decision and stop crying about it. If it such a dilemma, why don’t you buy them all and help out future CC-ers? :D
