Cryptic Crime Alert Email Today?

Does anyone here have any idea what's going on, and why they wouldn't specify it to us when sending this email? I live two minutes away from this street, so I really want to know:

Dear Uptown Residents,

Because of recent reported criminal activity on Audubon Boulevard between Willow Street and Claiborne Avenue, Tulane University is reminding students to avoid this residential area. Tulane University Police Department will work with the New Orleans Police Department to increase patrols in this area. Please keep in mind that as a community member it is our responsibility to report any and all suspicious activity immediately to the Tulane University Police Department at (504) 865-5911. Thank you all for your continued support and efforts to keep our Tulane Campus Community safe and secure.

Sounds like they don’t want students wandering through the residential neighborhood because of a recent incident. They probably don’t want Tulane students who don’t really belong in that neighborhood to inadvertently find themselves either a victim or a suspect in whatever has occurred.

stay south of Willow

Okay, but why? They didn’t send out any incident report and there’s nothing on the New Orleans crime blotter. What, are there drug houses? I really want some context.

My DS said he did not get this email. Do we know if it went out to the whole student body? I usually get crime alert emails and did not get one either.
