I'm a bit nervous as an EECS major b/c for about a month now the Berkeley scheduling site for Spring 09 still shows CS61B as having a 150 seat limit -- all of which are full -- and having a waitlist that's 95 out of 100 right now.

I decided to wait till telebears phase 2 to register for 61B b/c I'd been told that the class would almost without a doubt be enlarged. But, about a week away from my phase 2, it still hasn't been! Should I be worried or should I expect them to add more discussion sections and more seats to the lecture?

You should be fine. Since after the tech bust, I've haven't heard of a 61 series class that didn't take in everybody that wanted in. Plus its in 155 Dwinelle which can fit 500 kids.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but there's just over two weeks left before classes resume and there's still over 150 people on the waitlist. X_X What's going on here?.. should we be worried and enroll in another class instead? (EECS major) thanks!

This is the e-mail I got from Michael-David Sasson (head of CS scheduling):

Extra sections may be added as soon as we have confirmed gsi support to
teach the sections currently scheduled. While I hope that will be soon,
I can't give a timeline unfortunately.
