I'm in the US Army, and looking at prospects for the future. I'm looking at an undergraduate CS degree University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. If it counts toward anything at all, my father is alumni from UIUC (MA Scenic Engineering).

-3.0 GPA. I will not post up the grades as the are generally pretty unremarkable.

-25 composite score on the ACT. 26 on the english portion, 23 on the math.

-Only 58th percentile in my graduating class.

-Excellent essay writing skills, if that really counts.

-No AP. (I slacked off a little bit in high school, hence the lowish GPA and class ranking.)

Extra-Curricular:

-My current job in the army is computer-related (Information Systems Operator-Maintainer).
-Attended a few IT related summer camps, mostly involving troubleshooting and networking.
-Placed 14/44 in the SkillsUSA nation-wide computer maintenance competition and
-Placed 1st in the SkillsUSA Kentucky state-wide extemporaneous writing competition in 2009.
-Attended a technical school during my junior and senior year for computer programming and computer networking/repair.
-Played in the high school band.

I understand that some universities are "holistic" with their admissions, but given my profile and applying at UIUC, what would be the odds of me getting in? Thanks in advance.
