Hi guys, I'm kinda in a dilemma whether to transfer into computer science (in engieering) or not. I'm currently a junior undergraduate in civil engineering and have been minoring CS for a year. I've decided to pursue a cs-related career and wanted to double a cs major(extending one more year). However, professor Pitt told me this week that they are trying to deny all the double-major applicants because there are too many people in CS department. And he said the only way i can get into cs is to transfer in. The problem is I really can't simply quit civil engineering and transfer to CS because I almost finished the civil degree (with only two courses left) even if I'll probably not touch anything related to civil engineering after graduation. But meanwhile I'm worrying that a cs minor will not suffice for job hunting or applying to graduate school.
So my question is: Will a cs minor going to hurt in terms of finding a good-paid job in the long run? In terms of applying for cs graduate school ? However possible it is for me to get into a cs graduate school (as good as uiuc's one) with only a cs minor and good grades?

To be honest I really want to get a cs degree but also don't want to give up the civil engineering degree. Do you guys think it is possible to first transfer into cs and then "double" back to civil engineering ? Is this option legal and do you know anyone who has done this way ?
