CS Grad Internships Help!

So I'm Grad student at SANTA CLARA UNIV with an emphasis on computer science. I'm currently burdened by a pretty average GPA (3.5). I've never participated in research and have never held an internship position.

How hard will it be to acquire an internship position over the summer? I've taken pretty much all of the upper div CS courses (Comp Networks, operating systems, algorithms, software engineering, etc.) except for a couple of design courses.

Looking ahead a year, how hard will it be to get in the software industry? How can I increase my chances of avoiding being unemployed besides getting an internship over the summer? Will major companies even bother perusing my resume considering my lack of experience/high gpa? Please advice me on how to get an internship and is my university worth it?

Thanks.

The best place to start looking for summer internship is your school’s Career Office/Center. Look up the job postings and apply to all that you qualify, in a sense cast the net wide. Try not to limit yourself regarding location, industry, or company. Also attend the job fairs where many companies come to recruit students. There shall be one in the next semester, so make sure you do not miss it.

Thank you so much!
