So... I thought that if I scored well on the midterms that I would do fine in this troll Physics for Future Presidents class, but it turns out Jacobsen has a policy where every 2 missed quizzes/hw assignments counts as a letter grade down, so I'm basically guaranteed to get an NP in this class with 4 missed quizzes/hw assignments even though I will have a B. This is completely my fault. I should have read the long syllabus!

As a CS major with a 3.4~ GPA, what are the implications of this? Should I retake the class or should I just leave it be? Does anybody here have any advice regarding this matter? Job/internship prospects?

Sorry, are you taking this P/NP, or for a letter grade? If it’s an NP (not an F), I don’t think it affects your GPA at all.

I know it won’t affect my GPA, but I’m wondering if it would affect me getting jobs/internships if they see my NP. I don’t plan to go to grad school ATM, but its still something that worries me.

Should not affect job/internship as long as your GPA is decent. I have not seen any recruiters look into grades for non-major classes. In terms of grad school, law school does count an NP as an F but I’m not sure about CS grad school. If you have some space in your schedule, I’d definitely consider retake the class. At the very least, it would show future employers/grad schools that you made a mistake and you successfully corrected it. That’s more important than being perfect 4.0 IMO
