Finals week. I am freaking out again and just need your honest opinion. There is about 46% chance that I will totally mess up my final tomorrow and get a C in linear. I am a CS major targeting 4 UC schools, but mostly UCSD. The reason I did so poorly is that I once again selected a moron professor and missed a deadline for withdraw with a W. But what’s done is done.
Right now my major GPA is 3.89 (I do not have any Cs, mostly As). How much would getting a C in linear screw my chances for UCSD?
Is there any chance of getting in for CS at all?
Thank you!
https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major might give you an idea of where you stand at each campus for the CS major.
Doomed - no.
Assuming you have 45 units and a 3.89, A single C will bring you GPA down by .1 or so. You should still be a strong candidate - but, UC transfers can be unpredictable. Apply to several so you have someplace to go in the Fall
Good luck.
Thank you! Crisis averted. Studied my butt off and got an A on the final in B in class (which I am happy with). Major GPA dropped a little, but overall I still have about 3.79, which puts me somewhere in the middle between the lowest 3.68 and highest 3.92 for CS at UCSD.
